It’s always been a dream of mine to teach floral design. Perhaps once I retire, write a book about flowers and travel the world teaching. While that sounds like a good plan for the future it also seems so far away. My main goal behind opening the shop was to inspire originality and reshape the floral industry, particularly on Long Island. That is what I want to accomplish through this workshop and hopefully this is only the beginning. I want to invite you into our flower world, share our passion and celebrate creating with our hands.

The class will begin with a detailed demonstration that shows how we create our signature organic centerpieces. Details covered:

– mechanics behind centerpiece design

– shape, scale and style

– color palette

– flower selection

The shop will be full of Springs finest blooms to choose from such as sweet pea, ranunculus, parrot tulips, lilac, hellebore, poppies, anemone and more. Once the demonstration is complete students will begin to design their own centerpiece. Mike and I will be available to then give one-on-one guidance throughout the remainder of the workshop.

This workshop welcomes individuals with no floral background as well as experienced designers interested in growing their skill set. Each attendee will be provided with a vessel and their own floral pruners to take home after the workshop. Excited to have Stacey Kaufmann from Dear Stacey Photography document the class and each students work. High res imagery will be provided soon after.

Light nibbles and refreshments will also be provided.
